Jeff Swaner is a General Partner in Epic the Salon in Encino, California. Working in the beauty industry for over 20 years, Jeff began cutting hair at age 16 when he entered his high school’s Regional Occupational Program (R.O.P.) Both his passion and work ethic have driven to own his own salon – and by the age of only 24. He and his wife and business partner, Jamie Swaner, bought Epic in 1994. Starting his career as an Assistant Stylist to the owner of what was then James Laurence Salon. Jeff’s objective was to someday own a salon. When the owner could not overcome his financial difficulties, Jeff seized the opportunity to realize both his childhood dream and business objective simultaneously. They bought the salon and together he and Jamie transformed a financial challenge into the thriving success that is today known as Epic the Salon. With a love for his craft and his clients, Jeff’s work as a Hairdresser has been highlighted throughout the pages of such national publications as Modern Salon, Passion, Inspire, Hair Color and Design, and Sophisticates to name a few. He is actively involved personally in ongoing education and training as well as with his team of stylists. He’s a Master Trainer in the Salon Apprenticeship Program and continues to train and recruit new talent into the beauty industry. His entrepreneurial spirit goes beyond business ownership with his invention of the EZ Color Pro System for which Jeff has acquired several US patents. Chosen to be a member of The Best Foundation Global Salon Awards Advisory Committee, Jeff honors the position by continually finding ways to enhance the beauty industry. Jeff has been the guest on the first in a series of radio interviews by John Maly and Michael Cole, “Salon Talk: Real Success Stories” (Winter Series 2004). He is currently working with John Paul Mitchell's Product Research and Development team as a consultant, assisting in new color and product evaluations.
